So how did Bath Cake Boutique get started? Like all complicated stories, it was really simple. I am the very proud mommy of three young boys. Each a year apart ... no, I don't sleep! :) These three delightful boys have a pesky case of eczema. Pesky in that it is enough to look terrible and cause them significant discomfort in the winter but not bad enough that I felt comfortable giving young boys steriods. I was a loss with cremes and lotions I found on the market ...

Then a strange thing happened on the way to .... ok, I'm out of (not so) witty comments. Here's the thing -- I went to Wal-Mart and saw in the bath aisle a dinosaur egg bath bomb. My boys love baths, they were 25 cents each, so off I went with 3 of them in my hands. The boys adored them! The next week I went back to Wal-Mart to get more of the popular dinosaur egg bath bombs. Less than 7 days later these little delights were 75 cents each. Now, its certainly not that I couldn't afford a 50 cent increase. But the principle of the thing just stuck in my craw. What goes up three fold in less than a week????

You got your peanut butter in my chocolate ..... or in other words the proverbial light bulb went off in my mind. Why couldn't I make bath bombs? And more than that, why couldn't I make them with superior ingredients that actually relieved my boys' eczema while they enjoyed their baths?

So I did. That's the short story, anyway. Like all companies started by one person with one need, the product line has been through many different revisions for many different reasons, but that's how Bath Cake Boutique got its motivation.
